Malang Regency has an area from the coast up to the mountains and became one of centers the cattle farm in East Java with the patterns of forage availability depending on domestic forage. The aim of this experiment was to analyze the potency of productivity and species diversity of domestic forage based on different altitude. The study was conducted in three districts:Bandungrejo (0 to 390 masl), Ngembal (500 to 560 masl) and Gubug Klakah (900 to 1300 masl). The study was designed by completely randomized design consisting of 3 locations. The similarity index of forage in three locations was analyzed by NTSys 2.10 program. The results showed that forage productivity and number of forage species increased with increasing altitude with forage similarity index a 42%o.Cynodondactylon (L.) Pers. is able to growth well in all locations.en
