Abstract: One of wastewater sources comes from canteen and if it is not managed well may cause an environmental polution. One of the methods of controlling water pollution may use aquatic plants. The research aimed to analyse the growth of iris (Neomarica longifolia) where planted in IPB canteen wastewater and to analyse nutrient quality. Iris plants were planted into three media (soil, waste water, and water). Iris was analysed with measuring length of root, leaf, and the number of leaf. Quality of wastewater was analysed by measuring the temperature, pH, DO, BOD5, hardness, detergent, ammonia and N content. Nutrient quality of iris was analysed by using nutrient analysis. Length of root, leaf, and the number of leaf iris were planted in wastewater canteen higher than the other treatments. Iris which was planted in wastewater decreased the temperature, BOD5, hardness, ammonia, detergent, and total N, on the other hand increased in DO and pH in accordance to water quality standards. Protein and fiber content of iris which was planted in wastewater canteen produced 8,88% and 21,18%, respectively. These result were higher than the protein from iris which was planted in soil (7,83% and 19,73% ) and water (8,26 % and 20,65%).
