The advancement of technology provides alternative ways to develop spectrophotometer using simple components such as web camera with chargecouple device detector. The objective of the research is to develop visible spectrophotometer ‘KuantiVis’ with simple electronic components and web-based software Spectral Workbench as data acquisition system. The performance of KuantiVis was determined by validation of methyl red analysis and rhodamine B measurement in food sample (pacar cina). The whole result was compared with analysis using Spectronic 20D+ and Genesys 10UV. The analytical performance of KuantiVis for methyl red showed linearity with R2 was 0.9629, limit of detection was 0.6953 ppm, limit of quantitation was 2.1070 ppm, recovery was 110.00%, and relative standard deviation was 7.59%. The overall results met the Association of Analytical Communities standard but have not equal to the performance of Spectronic 20D+ and Genesys 10UV. Rhodamine B in pacar cina was 0.0022 (%w/w) based on measurement using KuantiVis. This result was not significantly different at the confidence level 95% using t test and F test as compared to the result using Spectronic 20D+ and Genesys 10UV.en
