Abstract: Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh krisis keuangan global, faktor internal, dan faktor ekternal terhadap profitabilitas bank syariah di negara GCC dan Non-GCC. Pengukuran profitabilitas bank menggunakan metode data panel masing-masing 12 bank syariah di negara GCC dan Non-GCC selama periode 2007-2012. Hasil estimasi menunjukkan faktor internal yang mempengaruhi profitabilitas bank syariah di negara GCC adalah risiko kredit, pangsa pasar, likuiditas, dan kapitalisasi. Sedangkan di negara Non-GCC faktor internal yang mempengaruhi profitabilitas bank syariah adalah biaya operasional, ukuran bank, pangsa pasar, dan likuiditas. Faktor eksternal yang mempengaruhi profitabilitas bank syariah di negara GCC adalah pertumbuhan ekonomi, inflasi, dan pertumbuhan money supply, sedangkan faktor eksternal yang mempengaruhi profitabilitas bank syariah di negara Non-GCC adalah pertumbuhan ekonomi dan pertumbuhan money suply. Hal menarik dalam penelitian ini adalah krisis keuangan global secara signifikan berpengaruh negatif terhadap profitabilitas bank syariah di negara GCC, sedangkan di negara Non-GCC tidak berpengaruh.
The aim of this research is to analize the influance of global fiancial crisis, internal and external factors on profitability of islamic banks in GCC and Non-GCC countries. Measuring the profitability of islamic banks, we used panel data method which taken from 12 islamic banks in GCC and Non-GCC countries during 2007-2012. The result indicating that internal factors which influence the islamic banks profitability in GCC countries are credit risk, market share, liquidity, and capitalization rate. Whereas, the internal factors which influence the profitability of islamic banks in Non-GCC countries are operating expenses, bank size, market share, and the liquidity. The external factors which influence the profitability of islamic banks in GCC countries are economic growth, inflation, and money supply growth. Whereas, external factors which influence the profitability in Non-GCC countries are economic growth and money supply growth. The interesting part of this research is global financial crisis has negative significant influence on islamic bank’s profitability in GCC, but in Non-GCC countries insignificant.
