Abstract: This study was aimed to determine the effect of cholesterol lowering drugs such as simvastatin, virgin coconut oil (VCO), and turmeric extract that is associated with the profile of leukocyte hypercholesterolemic rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus). Hypercholesterolemia is a increasing blood cholesterol condition. Untreated hypercholesterolemia can induce the production of plaque or atherosclerosis in the blood vessel walls. Twelve male rabbits were divided into 4 groups: control group (K), simvastatin group (KSV), VCO group (KVCO), and turmeric extract group (KKT). Each group was given the same treatment for the first week which is week of adaptation. Induction of hypercholesterolemia had done on KSV, KVCO, and KKT at week 2nd, the 3rd, and 4th. Simvastatin, VCO, and turmeric extract were give on 5th week. Blood samples were taken from the auricular vein every week to count the number of leukocyte, the leukocyte differentiation, and stress index. Analysis of the data using Microsoft Excel 2007 and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) at the 95% confidence interval, followed by Duncan's test. Treatment of hypercholesterolemia tends to increase the number of leukocyte at week 4 and cholesterol lowering drugs administration for 1 week tended to reduce the amount of leukocyte in the blood.
