Abstract: Ikan kerapu macan (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus) merupakan ikan karang ekonomis penting.
Grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus) is an economically important reef fish. Catching reef fish is most effective by using pot with bait. The objectives of this study are to determine the movement patterns of grouper fish in response to artificial bait and to analysis response of grouper to different composition of artificial baits (arginin and leucin). The laboratory experiment methods were used in this study. The results of this study showed the movement pattern of grouper identified to be three pattern responses to artificial bait. In the lighting condition fish respond to the baits finding phase, while in the dark condition fish respond to searching phase. The average time for arousal and searching response showed the bait of A was the fastest response time. The different of bait has significantly different for arousal and searching response in lighting or dark condition, but it has not significantly different for finding response in lighting condition.
