| en |
dc.description.abstract | Exotic pets are wild animals kept as pets for having unique characteristics and attractive, among them are the reticulated python (Python reticulatus). The zoonotic gastrointestinal helminths in exotic pets might been found. The objective of this research was to observe gastrointestinal helminths, percentage infection, and infection intensity of reticulated python kept as exotic pets. A total of 5 individual faecal samples were collected for 3 times. Samples were examined using the modified of McMaster, simple flotation, stratified filter, and Kato-Katz method. The research result shows that all animals (100%) were infected with gastrointestinal helminths included Ascaris 60%, Trichuris 60%, Strongylid 20%, and Oxyuris 20%. The average of the number of egg per gram (EPG) of Ascaris and Trichuris were 832 EPG and 514 EPG, respectifely. | en |
