dc.description.abstractWest Java is the center of the national industry as much as 60 percent of the industrial sector developing in this area. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors affecting labor absorption in the manufacturing sector in West Java Province. This study used the panel data with 26 districts/cities from 2008 to 2012. The results showed that the GDP, the growth rate of the industry, the investment of the industry, and the number of units of industrial enterprises positively affect labor absorption in the manufacturing sector in West Java. Meanwhile, labor productivity of the industrial sector and dummy of industry negatively affect labor absorption in the manufacturing sector in West Java.en
