Abstract: Trade liberalization in ASEAN region begins to be applied with the establishment of ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015. During the increasingly powerful liberalization, production factors such a workforce are required to manage higher productivity and better quality in order to be able to compete with the other production factors like capital and technology. The existence of part time workers can have positive effects for employment because of their growing number, but it can also be a negative effect because its productivity is considered less than prevailing theory. Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and Domestic Investement (DI) itself have a positive relationship with employment because the high level of Investement needs to be offset by high employment rate. Strategies to deal with liberal workforce market at the time of AEC need to be prepared more. Therefore, this study uses SWOT analysis to analyze the right strategies to deal with the forthcoming AEC in 2015.
