The purposes of this study are to know the influence of solvent concentration and pulping time toward the yield, kappa number, delignification selectivity, and acid level, determine the best combination experiment of NaOH and CaO based on delignification selectivity and recognize the mechanical properties of art paper. Alkali Pulping process was differentiated into two kinds of solvent (NaOH 8-12 % and CaO 13-17 %) which were pulped in ratio of material and solvent (1:6), pulping time (45 minutes and 60 minutes), and the temperature of 170oC. Using concentration of NaOH had kappa index valued 0.82-1.57, while CaO had 2.03-2.54. Using NaOH had delignification selectivity valued 62.90-120.55, while CaO had 38.49-48.24. However, the yield of CaO had a better property (76.94-84.87%), while NaOH had (60.19-71.71%). Based on experiment, NaOH 12% and CaO 17% with an hour pulping time (Na3T2 dan Ca3T2) had a better delignication selectivity which was considered as the best combination experiment and showed the better cellulose purity and lignin delignification intensity. The mechanical properties showed that Na3T2 had a better tensile and tear resistance (70.66 kN/m and 2434.90 mN) over Ca3T2 (50.87 kN/m and 1635.57 mN)en
