dc.description.abstract | Machinery for paddy cultivation are not widely used in Indonesia because they are not suitable for Indonesia’s paddy field conditions. In order to overcome the problem a furrower was modified in this research, and then attached to a light tractor. It was functioned as shovel and furrower, and has blades attached to its sides for root cutting of paddy. The modified furrower is pulled by walking type cultivator and tested in a field with adjusted row spacing. Result of the test showed that modified furrower gave 14.2 % root cutting ratio and had 63.5% weeding ratio. It also decreased soil bulk density, soil penetration resistance and made proper ditch for better fertilizer placement. | en |
