dc.description.abstractCyclones disaster in Bondowoso regency is an annual natural disaster caused a lot of losses. Within the last 5 years (2009-2013), 95 incidences of cyclone have hit 75 villages in Bondowoso regency. Development of urban forest is expected to be the best solution to overcome or prevent the occurrence of cyclones disaster. Characteristics of the villages with most frequent cyclones disaster is a low area at an altitude below 500 meters above sea level, is a flat area with 0-8 % slope as big as 1045.07 ha or 89.21 %, had a temperature surface between 30˚ - 35˚C as big as 909.45 ha or 77.63 %, and is a place dominated by the type of land cover in the form of a fairly open area as big as 853.45 ha of rice fields or by 72.85 %. Area with the highest weight value that needs to be built urban forest that serves as a disaster mitigation cyclones scattered in 201 villages with an area of 32420.35 ha or 20.83 % of the total area of Bondowoso regency obtained from the scoring and overlay the four characteristics.en
