Abstract: Ethanol extract of the wungu leaf has an antioxidant according to an in vitro test. The purpose of this study was to determine the antioxidant activity of the ethanol extract and its partitions in an in vivo study by analyzing the lipid peroxide concentrations of liver in the hyperglycemic Sprague Dawley rats. Solvents used for the multilevel partition of the etanol extract were diethyl ether, ethyl acetate, and n-butanol. Further step was a phytochemical compounds qualitative test for the extracts. Lipid peroxide analysis was done by taking four livers from each group, there were seven treatment groups; normal group (K-1), glybenclamide control (K-2), hyperglycemia control (K-3), ethanol (K-4), diethyl ether (K-5), ethyl acetate (K-6), and n-butanol (K-7). The ethyl acetate extract contains bioactive compounds such as saponins, steroids, and tannins with a yield of 0,23%. The ethyl acetate extract can reduce the lipid peroxide of the liver by 57,19% and this is significant (p <0,05) with other groups.
