Abstract: Growth and survival rate are the main factor determining the productivity of aquaculture. This research was conducted to obtain the dose of recombinant giant grouper growth hormone (rElGH) that generates highest growth and survival rate of Sangkuriang catfish at larval stage through immersion. The research used a completely randomized design and consisted of four treatments with three replications. The dose of rElGH used was 0 (control), 0.2 mg/L, 2.0 mg/L and 20.0 mg/L. rElGH was dissolved in 100 mL water containing 9 g/L salt solution and 100 mg/L bovine serum albumin. A total of 100 larvae at 5 days after hatching were hiperosmotic treated on 35 g/L salt solution for 2 minutes, and then immersed into 100 mL of rElGH solution for 1 hour. Fish were reared for 21 days and fed on blood worm ad libitum. The results showed that biomass and survival rate of 2 mg/L rElGH treated fish was 49.60% and 47.67% higher than control, respectively. Thus, the biomass of Sangkuriang catfish seed can be improved by immersing in water containing 2 mg/L rElGH, and it is potentially high to be used in order to increase aquaculture production.
