dc.description.abstractGoldband goat fish is a demersal fish that has an economically important value in Sunda Strait and it is one of fish catches dominant ashore on PPP Labuan. High of demand of this fish, it was feared that populations of fish will decline due to man activities arrest conducted continously. So conducted a study to assess the Goldband goat fish stock in gulf of Sunda Strait to determine the fish alternative management more appropriate and sustainable. The study was conducted from June to October 2013 with each sampling interval approximately 20 days. Primary data collected were the total length, wet weight, gonad maturity, sex, and weight of fish gonads surgically. Goldband goat fish were dominant caught gonad maturity I and II. The growth pattern was allometric negative. Goldband goat fish female have a growth coefficient (K) is 0.17 per year and for manly is taller 0.13 per year, so females have a longer life. The rate of exploitation of goldband goat fish to 0.73 so that suspected goldband goat in Sunda Strait have overexploited.en
