Abstract: The peak discharge numbers are needed in water resource management, especially for flood management. If the data are unavailable, peak discharge can be generated using daily rainfall data and watershed characteristics. The purpose of this study was to design peak discharge of the Upper Ciliwung Watershed using daily rainfall data. The Mononobe method was used to estimate rainfall intensity and rational method was used to estimate the design peak discharge. The results show concentration time (Tc) of the Upper Ciliwung watershed was 1.5 hours while the peak discharge at 2, 5, 10, 25, 50, and 100 years return period were 392 m3/s, 600 m3/s, 739 m3/s, 927 m3/s, 1063 m3/s, dan 1214 m3/s respectively. Land use change in the Upper Ciliwung cause an increase in peak discharge from 205 m3/s in 1996 to 392 m3/s in 2010.
