Abstract: Legumes are one of the major food groups in the framework of Desirable Dietary Pattern (PPH) and balanced nutrition. In order to meet the consumption of legumes to the individual level can be done independently by the ability of the production area. This study was aims to detern11ne the actual situation of production and consumption, and legumes adequacy ratio based on net production devided to normative consumption. A cross sectional study was conducted at 26 districts in West Java Province. The collection, processing and analysis of data was conducted in January-May 2014. Data used in this study were secondary data and has become a constant number. There are six districts/cities (23%) in West Java that had self sufficiency of legumes based on the ratio of net production to the normative consumption (≥ 90), namely Sukabumi, Cianjur, Bandung, Garut, Majalengk.a and Sumedang. Generally, actual consumption of legumes in districts/cities in West Java province is low, except the Bandung city which already exceeds the ideal consumption (>5%). The production pattern of legumes were varies in each districts/cities. The consumption pattern of legumes in all districts/cities· in West Java was soybeans. For future production and consumption of legumes in most districts/cities in West Java needs to be improved in order to achieve legumes self sufficiency.
