Abstract: The study was aimed to determine the water exchange proportion to achieve optimalize seed productivity of pink tail characin fish rearing. The average size of fish was 2.37 cm or weight of 0.03 ± 0.01 g/fish. The fish were reared at density of 2 fish/L in each aquariums at volume of 100 liters. The treatments consisted of exchange water at proportion of 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% per day with 3 replicates. The results showed the highest survival rate, average length and daily growth rate of 75% exchange water treatment that were 99.83±0.29%, 2.75±0.02 cm, and 3.98±0.12% respectively. The highest length coefficient of diversity, feed efficiency and economic benefit were obtained by daily exchange water at proportion of 75% these were 4.79±0.19%, 12.12±0.19% and Rp 985 417.- respectively. The optimal rearing productivity of ornamental fish pink tail characin size ¾ inch was in the 75% of daily water exchange proportion.
