Abstract: The purpose of this study was conducted for determine the prevalence, risk factor, and parasitaemia blood parasite based on age and sex category on cattle in Cipatujah sub-district, Tasikmalaya regency, West Java. Blood samples were collected in July 2012 from 142 cattle. Samples were processed in glass slide, stained with Giemsa 10%, and observed using a microscope with 1000x magnifications with a drop of immersion oil. The amount of blood parasite counted for every 500 red blood cells. The potential of risk factor in regard with age, sex, and livestock management which were obtained by interviewing the breeder. The result showed that the highest prevalence was observed in Theileria sp. (57.04%), followed by Babesia sp. (50%), and the lowest Anaplasma sp. (29.57%). The prevalence of theileriosis was influenced by sex and age of cattle (p<0.05), while babesiosis and anaplasmosis was not differ significantly. In Cipatujah sub-district, prevalence of blood parasite was not influenced by ways to raise and vector control. In general, the level of parasitaemia was influenced by age and the differences of sex, wherein female cattle had highest level of parasitaemia compared to male cattle, and adult cattle (>12 months) had higher level of parasitaemia more than child cattle (6-12 months) and calf cattle (0-6 months).
