Pengembangan Aplikasi Pencarian Tempat Berbasis Mobile

Abstract

Searching for a room in the building at a new area or even a frequently visited area may be a problem for some people. The purpose of this research is to develop a location based services (LBS) application which can search a place with the user’s current position as a reference. Place in this research is a room inside the building, such as classroom, laboratory, and auditorium. This research is conducted in several stages, the first is application development planning based on related references. The second is system requirement analysis, such as hardware specification and data. After that, the system is designed and implemented based on the previous two iterations of analysis, and finally, the system is tested for each function. The application is developed on Android platform using Google Maps API version two. User’s location coordinate is obtained by using assisted global positioning system ( A-GPS ) which can utilize the services from the service provider to determine the user's position at current time. This research’s result is an application that capable to show a route to the desired room along with its associated distance, travel time and room layout information.
