Title: Uji Daya Hasil Sepuluh Galur Cabai (Capsicum annuum L.) Bersari Bebas yang Potensial Sebagai Varietas Unggul

Abstract: The objective of this research is to compare several lines of expecting a open pollinated variety chilli as a result from Breeding Laboratory of Bogor Agricultural University with OP chilli variety which have been already in the marketplace and get a strain that has a superior characteristics than the comparison varieties. This research conducted on July 2010 until January 2011 in Leuwikopo Experimental Farm, Bogor Agricultural University. The experiment was carried out by using a random complete block design with thirdteen treatment and three replicates so completely there are 39 units of the experiment. Strains tested i.e. F6001004-5, F6002003-9, F6002005-4-76, F6002046-2, F6015002-8, F7002001-4, F7009002-1, F7009015-4, F7009019-1, and F7015008-5, next compared to three commercial chili varieties i.e. Trisula, Gelora, and TIT super. v Variables observed covering quantitative and qualitative character. Evaluation of quantitative characters plant observed covering plant height, dicotomous height, stem diameter, wide- canopy, wide leafs, leaf length, flowering age, weight per fruit, the weight of fruit worthy of the market, and the total weight of the fruit. The evaluation of qualitative characters including plant growth habit, stem shape, stem color, leaf shape, leafs color, leaf shape edges, the surface shape of the leaf, corolla color, anther colour, flower position, fruit shape, the color of the young fruit, dark fruit color, and shape of the fruit skin surface. Evaluation character based on variables fruit production plant showed there were F6002046-2, F6001004-5 and F7009015-4. strain are considered worthy developed as a potential superior varieties.
