Title: The capacity of women in the development of the creative economy of Acehnese embroidery business

Abstract: The Acehnese creative embroidery business was a traditional business and has been run hereditarily. This creative business closely related to the market which the last result of this business was creative’s products for sale to the market. However, the market was dinamic where always make changes through products innovation. In this case, the entrepreneurs should be more creative and had high product innovation by developing woman’s (entrepreneurs) capacity to be able creting products that suit the market demand. But, this case didn’t change the Acehnese embroidery motives as the main characteristic of the products. The purpose of this study was: (1) to describe the level of woman capacity in the development of creative economy businesses of Acehnese embroidery in northern districts of Aceh. (2) to analyze the factors associated with the capacity of women in the creative economic development of Acehnese embroidery business in North Aceh. This study was conducted on woman entrepreneurs of embroidery in five districts namely Muara Batu, Lhoksukon, Dewantara, Sawang, and Nisam, North Aceh. The site selection of study was done purposively or intentionally, based on the huge potential of embroidery. The number of population in this study was 175 businesses, which were scattered throughout the northern districts of Aceh and the sample taken was as many as 52 women entrepreneurs embroidery. The sample taken used stratified random sampling whose population was heterogeneous. The results showed that the level of women's capacity to carry out the business functions and the capacity to adapt to the market was high, however, the capacity to solve the problem of capital was in the low category. The capacity to run the business function was influenced positively and significantly by the frequency of the exhibition, turnover/ month, marketing, family support/ husband, and exhibition support. The capacity to solve the problem of capital was influenced positively and significantly by the experience of the business, the frequency of the exhibition, turnover / month, capital support, and exhibition support. The capacity to adapt to market was influenced significantly and negatively by the number of children under five.
