dc.description.abstractSoursop fruit can damage in transportation caused by using incorrect packaging. The main objective of this research is determining the affect between packaging and filler toward mechanical damage soursop fruit. The material was used: soursops, crates, corrugated fiber board, paper, banana leafs, and taro leafs. The equipment used consists of vibrating table with a compressor, the scales mettler, rheometer, and refractometer. The smallest mechanical damage is in soursop when it packaged in corrugated fiber board and crates wrapped paper. Most weight losses occurred in soursops with packing crates wrapped banana leafs. Possessed the lowest hardness soursop packing corrugated fiber board wrapped taro leafs. The highest total soluble solids on the last day of observation occured for the soursop that packed using crates wrapped paper. The highest moisture content on the last day of observation occured for the soursop that packed using corrugated fiber board wrapped taro leafs. Package using corrugated fiber board wrapped paper is the best packaging for transportation. It is because mechanical damage that occurs lowest, hardness, total soluble solids and water degres are highest, and loss of weight are relatively little during storage of 8 days.en
dc.description.abstractBuah sirsak dapat mengalami kerusakan dalam transportasi karena penggunaan kemasan yang tidak tepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis kemasan, dan pengisi terhadap tingkat kerusakan mekanis buah sirsak. Bahan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah buah sirsak, peti kayu, kardus, kertas koran, daun pisang, dan daun talas. Peralatan yang digunakan adalah meja getar, timbangan, rheometer dan refraktometer. Kerusakan mekanis terkecil pada sirsak dalam peti kayu ataupun kardus dibungkus koran. Susut bobot terkecil pada peti kayu dibungkus daun pisang. Kekerasan tertinggi pada kardus dibungkus daun talas. Total padatan terlarut tertinggi pada peti kayu dibungkus koran. Kadar air tertinggi pada kardus yang dibungkus daun talas. Kemasan kardus karton dengan pengisi koran adalah yang terbaik untuk transportasi karena memiliki nilai rataan kerusakan mekanis dan susut bobot terkecil, serta memiliki kekerasan, total padatan terlarut dan kadar air tertinggi selama penyimpanan 8 hari.
