Abstract: Data from several studies show that prevalence of hypertension increases with obesity. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between obesity and blood pressure and to determine the indicator of obesity which affect blood pressure. Prevalence of obesity by BMI is 35.3%, by waist circumference is 49%, by waist hip ratio is 51%. Prevalence of hypertension is 5.9%. The bivariat test results indicate that waist hip ratio related with systolic blood pressure (p<0.01, r=0.388) and diastolic blood pressure (p<0.05, r=0.333). There is no significant correlation between BMI and waist circumference with systolic and diastolic blood pressure. There is a relationship between sex with waist hip ratio, systolic dan diastolic. Age is correlated with BMI dan waist circumference, marriage status is correlated with BMI and number of family is correlated with BMI and waist circumference. Smoking habits is correlated with systolic. There is no correlation between physical activity dan food consumption pattern with several anthropometric indicators of obesity and blood pressure.
