Abstract: Genetics analysis of soybean tolerance to shading. The objective of this research was to obtain information on genetic control of agronomic traits of soybean under shading condition. The research was conducted at the experimental station of BB Biogen, Ciamnggu, Bogor in August 2005 until January 2006. The following genetic materials were used : Ceneng and Pangrango (shade-tolerant parents), slamet and Godek (shade-susceptible parents) as well as 12 F1 genotypes derived from dialel cross among the parents. The results showed that the epistatic gene action was found absent for all of the traits studied, expect for number of total pod. The va lue of H2/4H2, is different than 0.25. It showed that the distribution of genes having positive and negative effects is not asymmetrical. The ratio of the total number higher frequency of dominant alleles in the parents. The result also showed that material effect was not pound an agronomic traits of soybean under shading.
