dc.description.abstractAroma character of the original Indonesian aromatic rice varieties have not been widely reported. Identification of aroma character in paddy Mentikwangi will be done using PCR with primer Bradbury and organoleptic using KOH. Use these methods are expected to select rice plants from crosses Ciherang x Mentikwangi BC3F2 be aromatic and non-aromatic, in order to obtain some new promising lines with background Ciherang carrying aromatic trait. Rice crop selection results using primer Bradbury, of the total 266 BC3F2 plants were tested, as many as 55 plants have the same sized DNA fragment with Mentikwangi about 257 bp, 34 plants have the same sized DNA fragments with Ciherang about 355 bp, and 177 plants had a heterozygous DNA fragments or a mixture of both about 355 bp and 257 bp. Organoleptic test results with 1.7% KOH homozygous recessive allele showed most flavorful score.en
