Abstract: Administration of probiotic E. faecium IS-27526 cream of biscuit is expected to inhibit the growth of E.coli in the rats‟ intestine. Sweet potatoes may have prebiotic effect and helps the growth of good bacteria in the intestine. The aim of the study is to observe the effect of feeding diet containing functional biscuit cream probiotic E. faecium IS-27526 enriched with sweet potatoes and catfish flour on fecal microbiota of rats. Different composition of biscuit cream with and without sweet potatoes flour were administrated and 4 weeks feeding trial using Sprague Dawley rat was conducted in this study. The study assessed profile of fecal microbiota of rats. Administration of probiotic E. faecium IS- 27526 on biscuit cream tends to reduce the number of fecal coliform regardless of the presence of sweet potatoes flour. The presence of probiotic E. faecium IS- 27526 and sweet potato flour tend to increase fecal lactic acid bacteria as well as to reduce the fecal coliform of rats.
