Title: Rancang Bangun Angkong Bermesin sebagai Sarana Pengangkutan pada Proses Pengumpulan Buah Kelapa Sawit

Abstract: Harvesting activity are one of the important activities in the palm oil production process. Harvesting activity consist of cutting fresh fruit bunches (FFB) from their stems, collection, and transport. Transportation activities in the process of collecting FFB still using simple tools, it’s wheelbarrow driven by humans. Collection FFB activity is one tough job and requires large manpower. The main topic of this research is to decrase human power load when pushing wheelbarrow with the addition of engine as a power source. Design criteria for wheelbarrow engined is to has a maximum forward speed equivalent to ability of human beings, which is 5 KPH. Design using CAD software. Adding engine is expected to increase the wheelbarrow transport capacity. The results of wheelbarrow with engine design is using 2-stroke engine with a capacity of 0.78 iii KW used from mowers engine. Functional part of the main functions are supporting frame, tub, engine cradle, 2 stroke engine, gearbox, eccentric gear, chain and sprocket, wheel, fuel tank, throttlecontrol, and handle grip. From the analysis and calculation is determined using the frame, wheels and tubs of wheelbarrow Artco branded, 2-stroke engine with a capacity of 0.78 KW, using a gearbox reduction ratio 1:20 type 40, roller chain size 40, sprocket 14T and 45T. The results from this research are design wheelbarrow with engine that have forward speed 5 KPH.
