Abstract: Timor deer is one of the protected animal and have been captived many times as an effort to increase the population. One of the success factor in captivity is the deer’s health which is formed by adaptation process to the breeding place, the feed and the keepers. The objective of this study was to identify the response activities of the Timor deer to the new keeper. The given treatment were the new keeper with the staple feed, additional feed and cleaning cage. Timor deer that was given the treatment differentiated based on gender and age, which are the old female deer, adult male deer, adult female deer and a calf. Data were analyzed by quantitative descriptive analysis. All the deers which already being observed did not show any changes in the response activity to the new keeper who gave the grass as a feed. Supplying an additional feed by the new keeper causing the deers stayed away unless the individual adult male deer. The cleaning cage treatment by the new keeper had an influence of changing the response activity all the deers that being observed.
