dc.description.abstractThe construction of a dam is built crossing river stream for elevating water level. In designing a dam, force field analysis in a dam is needed to ensure a dam can be operated properly. The focus of this research is to analize seepage and uplift pressure in a dam. The objective of this research is quantifying and analyzing the force that occurs in a dam as a reference in designing of a dam construction. The study is located in Sungai Buntu Village, Pedes, Karawang. The analysis is using guideline KP-02 Criteria for Designing Main Dam and KP-06 Criteria for Designing Additioal Structures. Software Geo Studio Seep/w 2004 is used in seepage analysis. The data which are required are soil permeability, and water level at upstream and downstream. The equipments used in this study are soil ring, tape, computer, and calculator. Based on the result of Geo Studio Seep/w 2004 analysis, the quantity of seepage under the Dam is 1,01 x10-8 m3/sec. Based on flow net analysis the quantity of seepage under the Dam is 1,72x10-8 m3/sec and the uplift pressure is 2450 kg/m.en
