dc.description.abstractEarlier studies show that gender difference was influential into the academic achievement. Boys are considered to outperform girls in Mathematics while girls are considered to outperform boys in Bahasa. This study aimed to determine the effect of gender, self-efficacy, self regulated learning, and family characteristics in Mathematics and Bahasa achievement. The study involved 91 Junior High School students in 8th grade, the students were selected by simple random sampling. The data were collected by self report using questionnaire that are done by student. The results showed that self-efficacy in Mathematics the boys higher than girls, but the Bahasa achievements girls is higher than boys. Self regulated learning and family characteristics did not significantly influence the Mathematics and Bahasa achievement.en
