Abstract: Gunung Halimun Salak National Park has many ecosystem types. The national park has many rare and protected species especially mammals. The objective of this study was to identify and quantify the abundance of mammals in the national park. The abundance of mammals was calculated using camera trap of Busnell type. To support the data, direct observation, setting of live trap, mist net, identification of foot print and analysis of vegetation were also conducted. The result showed that the highest abundance of mammals was deer (Muntiacus munjak) of 31.25% with an encounter rate of 34.37 photo/100 day, while the lowest was malaysian wood rat (Rattus tiomanicus), treeshrew (Tupaia javanica), plantain squirrel (Callosciurus notatus), malay badger (Mydaus javanensis), leopard cat (Prionailurus bengalensis), and banded linsang (Prionodon linsang) of 3.12%. By using direct observation, live trap and foot print it was showed that there were another 11 species mammals of 6 families. A total of 23 mammals species of 12 families recorded during this study in the national park.
