Abstract: Banten Economic growth during 2002 – 2011 has increased positively. This growth happened because of the role of superior sector at Banten province economic areas. Based on identification using analysis method LQ, Shift Share and Klassen typology has found four superior sectors at Banten province that are manufacture sector, electricity sector, gas and clean water, trading sector, hotel and restaurant, also transportation and communication. Those four sectors are called modern economic sectors. The causes of economic gap of interregional between regency and city at Banten province happened by the differences between of identified superior sector at province level, compared to regency and city level. The undeveloped Banten regency and city has different superior sector compared to superior sector at Banten province. Meanwhile, the developed region has the same superior sector with superior sector at Banten province. The Banten government regulation during 2003 - 2011 which is aimed to create agriculture sector as superior sector has not reached yet. Besides that, the purpose to decrease the interregional economic gap between regency and city during 2003 – 2011 has not reached yet also.
