Studi Potensi Taman Atap untuk Meningkatkan Luasan RTH Kota

Abstract

The quality of urban environment can be improved by green open space. However, the development of urban area pressed the existences of green open space. Buildings greenery is one way to increase the amount of green open space in urban area. Buildings greenery can be done by developing roof garden on top of the building that is widely available in urban area. This study was conducted to analyze the potential development of roof garden in North Jakarta. The study of roof garden potential development is expected to be an alternative to increase the amount of green open space to reduce urban heat phenomena. This study analyzed the potential of roof garden development by purposive sampling technique. Building samples was selected in the trade, offices, and services area located on main nasional roadside. The potential value of roof garden was calculated by the multiplication of roof digitizing and the percentage of building greenery based on the classification of the height by the law. The study showed that there is potential increasing of 19,4 hectares of green open space by roof garden development.
