Abstract: Saung Angklung Udjo is one of the conservation of angklung where focused in West Java, It concerned to preserve the four types of bamboo (Black bamboo, Gombong bamboo, Temen bamboo, and Tali bamboo) which identified as angklung raw materials also to communicate information to visitors to get to know these resources. This study aims to develop a conservation plan based interpretation of bamboo as a raw material at Saung Angklung Udjo. The method was developed using qualitative descriptive methods to approach the interpretation of Sharpe is make objective, collection information, analysing, synthesis, plan, implementation, evaluation & revision, and feedback. Data were collected in the form of primary and secondary data including the type and characteristics of bamboo, bamboo processing into a musical instrument angklung, and conservation efforts that may involve visitors in Saung Angklung Udjo. Data were collected through observation, study of literature, and interviews with three informants and 50 respondents. The data obtained is used to make planning interpretation at Saung Angklung Udjo. There are four types of bamboo used as angklung raw materials namely black bamboo (Gigantochloa atroviolaceae), gombong bamboo (Gigantochloa pseudoarundinaceae), temen bamboo (Gigantochloa atter), and Tali bamboo (Gigantochloa apus). Fourth bamboo has physical properties and anatomy suitable as an angklung musical instrument. Procurement bamboo as angklung raw material was obtained by taking from nature and has not done the intensive cultivation. This condition affects the existence of four types of bamboo are increasingly rare. Conservation bamboo species as angklung raw material needs to be done in order to maintain the existence and type of angklung art. Business partners and farmer (harvesters) have bamboo conservation efforts. One effort can to do Saung Angklung Udjo managers through the delivery of information related to the type and characteristics of bamboo, bamboo processing effort into conservation efforts bamboo to the visitor. Forms of interpretation that was developed in the form of plans and programs based interpretation facilities conservation angklung bamboo as raw material. Program and interpretation boards are developed to enhance the appreciation of visitors directed to the conservation of bamboo as angklung raw material.
