dc.description.abstractAndalas is a timber plant that is endemic to the island of Sumatera, West Sumatera Province mascot, but now Andalas plant is hard to find and many people do not know that Andalas is the name of a plant or tree, so Andalas needs to be preserved. Potensial of the plant is not well known, so we need to be aware of the spread of inventory Andalas communal forest. The purpose of this study is to conduct an inventory and mapping of plant Andalas in District X Koto, Tanah Datar, West Sumatera. The results showed that Andalas found in District X Koto much as 266 individuals consisting of 134 at tree level, 49 at the poles, stakes and 64 at level 19 at the seedling. Andalas planting activities undertaken in Nagari Singgalang in 2007 had a very small percentage of success grows from 40.000 seedling planted can grow only as much as 292 or 0,73%. Therefore, to preserve the existing plant is expected Andalas advanced research, so it will obtain more detailed information regarding both existence and cultivation Andalas.en
