Peran PPP Sikakap dalam Menunjang Kebutuhan Pengguna dan Ekonomi Daerah Kepulauan Mentawai serta Strategi Pengembangannya.

Abstract

Development of fishing ports is needed to improve services for fishermen. The aims of this research were to identify the activities, conditions and utilization of facilities PPP Sikakap, calculate the contribution of PPP Sikakap to the regional economy, and determine the facility development strategy of PPP Sikakap. Case study method was used in this research to examine the technical and economic aspects of PPP Sikakap. Activities in PPP Sikakap related to the fulfillment of fishermen’s needs in running their business. Result showed that broken fishing port facilities were TPI, ice plant, and cold storage. The fishery sector in 2000-2010 could be categorized as basis sector (LQ>1). Multiplier effects of fisheries based on regional income indicators in 2000-2010 ranged from 4,41 to 21,99 and according to indicators of labor in 2008-2012 ranged from 0,69 to 1,44. Development strategies of PPP Sikakap were land utilization for development of more port facilities, increase of export quality catches, fishing technology and improvement of human resources quality
