dc.description.abstractEach type of sheep has unique characteristic of morphometric heasd size. This study aimed to find morphometric differences of head size between Thin-tailed, Batur, Wonosobo, Garut (fighting and meat type) female sheep. Variables that observed were akrokranion-prosthion, basion-prosthion, under mandibular, head height, tuber facial left-right, nation-rhinion, left-right entorbitale, left-right euryon and left-right supraorbitale. There were 79 heads of local sheep that analyzed using descriptive statistics, T2-Hotelling test, Fisher discriminant analysis, Wald-Anderson analysis and minimum distance D2-Mahalanobis. Fisher discriminant analysis resulted that nation-rhinion was distinguishing variable between Thin-tailed vs Batur. Akrokranion-prosthion, basion-prosthion, head height and nasion-rhinion were distinguishing variables between Wonosobo vs Thin-tailed and between Thin-tailed vs Garut fighting type. Basion-prosthion was distinguishing variable between Thin-tailed vs Garut meat type. Nasion-rhinion was distinguishing variable between Batur vs Garut fighting type and became discriminator variable between Batur vs Garut meat type. Minimum distance D2-Mahalanobis between Thin-tailed sheep vs Batur was 5.8362, Wonosobo vs Thin-tailed sheep was 5.7288, Thin-tailed sheep vs Garut fighting type was 3.0762, Thin-tailed vs Garut meat type was 2.5232, Batur vs Garut fighting type was 2.2854 and Batur vs Garut meat type was 3.6047. Thin-tailed group was separate from other sheeps. Garut and Wonosobo had a close morphometric relation.en
dc.description.abstractMorfometrik kepala domba bersifat khas dan merupakan karakteristik tersendiri pada setiap jenis domba. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mengidentifikasi perbedaan morfometrik kepala domba betina antara Domba Ekor Tipis (DET), domba Batur, domba Wonosobo, domba Garut Tangkas dan domba Garut Pedaging. Variabel-variabel yang diamati meliputi akrokranionprosthion, basion-prosthion, rahang bawah, tinggi kepala, tuber facial kiri-kanan, nasion-rhinion, entorbitale kiri-kanan, euryon kiri-kanan dan supraorbitale kiri kanan. Ternak yang digunakan berjumlah 79 ekor. Analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif, statistik T2 -Hotelling, analisis diskriminan Fisher, WaldAnderson dan jarak minimum D2 -Mahalanobis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nasion-rhinion ditemukan sebagai variabel pembeda antara DET vs Batur. Akrokranion-prosthion, basion-prosthion, tinggi kepala dan nasion-rhinion adalah variabel pembeda antara DET vs Wonosobo dan antara DET vs Garut Tangkas. Basion-prosthion merupakan variabel pembeda antara DET vs Garut Pedaging. Nasion-rhinion adalah variabel pembeda antara Batur vs Garut Tangkas, dan variabel pembeda antara Batur vs Garut Pedaging. Jarak minimun D2 - Mahalanobis atau jarak ketidakserupaan morfometrik antara DET vs Batur sebesar 5.836, DET vs Wonosobo 5.729, DET vs Garut Tangkas 3.076, antara DET vs Garut Pedaging 2.523, antara Batur vs Garut Tangkas 2.285, antara Batur vs Garut Pedaging 3.605. DET membentuk kelompok terpisah dari domba lainnya, domba Garut dan Wonosobo memiliki hubungan ketidakserupaan morfometrik yang dekat.
