Abstract: Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is one of the most important cultivated plants, as it is a staple food for the majority of the world population and the Indonesian Society. In line with the times, rice not gets enough water for maximum growth, so it is necessary tolerant rice at a minimum water level. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of water level on the growth and production of rice and to get rice strains that matched the minimum water level. This study uses a split plot design with three replications. The first factor is the main plots consisting of a pool of high water level 2.5 cm and 0 cm from the soil surface. The second factor is 8 strains rice resistant to the minimum water level. F test results indicate that the water level did not affect the growth and production of eight starins rice tested. Strains tested showed similar vegetative growth, but the visible difference in the production of each strain. At 0 cm water level several strains that produce the maximum is strains 1, 3, 4, and 6.
