Abstract: High level of glucose in blood can cause Diabetes Mellitus (DM). This desease can be treated by either chemical or herbal medicine. One of herbal plant which is expected to heal the desease DM is Wungu leaves. Glucose measurement was conducted to 7 group, normal group (K-1), negative control (K-2), positive control (K-3), ethanol extract of wungu leaves 25 mg/kg bb (K-4), 50 mg/kg bb (K-5), 100 mg/kg bb (K-6), 200 mg/kg bb (K-7). The measurement was conducted in 2 phase namely treatment phase, to determine the effect of ethanol extract of Wungu leaves on DM and post-treatment phase which is to determine the effectiveness of extract of Wungu leaves in dcreasing glucose in blood. The sample animal that is used is Sprague-dawley ratswhich is weighting ≥ 200 gram, the experimental is carried out for 21 days. The result shows that the extract of Wungu leaves effect on decreasing glucose level is blood of diabetes rats. The decreasing of glucose strat from > 200 mg/dL in day 4 to < 200 mg/dL in day 14. Post-treatment phase shows that K-3, K-5, and K-6 decrease significiently. Decreasing on K-3 indicate that glibenklamid is working good in decreasing glucose level in DM rats blood, glucose K-5 on 15th minute is lower than K-6, so it can be conclude that K-5 is more effective in decreasing glucose level on DM rats.
