Abstract: The research was carried out to determine the suitable dose of recombinant growth hormone to the survival and growth of climbing perch. This research was conducted with three doses of rGH treatment (0 μg rGH/g body weight, 0.5 μg rGH/g body weight and 1.5 μg rGH/g body weight) and one control. Each treatment was repeated three times. Production of rGH was done using Escherichia coli BL21 so that produced pellets rGH be used for injecting fish. The results showed that providing rGH by injection was able to increase growth and survival of climbing perch. Suitable dose for increasing growth and survival of climbing perch by injection was 0.5 μg rGH/g body weight.
Penelitian dilakukan untuk menentukan dosis hormon pertumbuhan rekombinan (recombinant growth hormone, rGH) yang sesuai pertumbuhan ikan betok Anabas testudineus. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tiga perlakuan dosis rGH (0 μg rGH/g bobot tubuh, 0,5 μg rGH/g bobot tubuh dan 1,5 μg rGH/g bobot tubuh) dan satu kontrol. Setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak tiga kali. Produksi protein rGH dilakukan menggunakan bakteri Escherichia coli BL21 sehingga dihasilkan pelet rGH yang digunakan untuk penyuntikan pada ikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian rGH melalui injeksi dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup ikan betok. Dosis rGH yang baik untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan mempertahankan kelangsung an hidup ikan betok melalui injeksi adalah 0,5 μg rGH/g bobot tubuh ikan betok.
