| Abstract: | This study describes a spatial modelling of tsunami destruction vulnerability in Ciamis coastal area. The characteristics of Ciamis coastal area were identified and analysed to develop the potential of destruction by tsunami. The specific objectives are: (1) to build up a spatial model of potential inundation of tsunami, (2) to identify factors which have roles in destruction by tsunami, (3) to build up the level of vulnerability of destruction by tsunami. The run up of 7.5 m had inundated 4% from whole study area. When the run up achieve 15 m and 30 m then the inundated areas would be approximately 36% and 57% respectively. It was found out that all factors show a pattern with the inundation area proportion but the stepwise regression shows that the factor of elevation is the chosen factor to build up the vulnerability model. It was found out that 20% of the village area of Ciamis coast belongs to very vulnerable class, while 28% of the area is vulnerable and 52% of the area is not vulnerable to destruction by tsunami. The information regarding the area of a very vulnerable dan vulnerable is useful for coastal area’s planning and zoning |
