| dc.description.abstract | Cefadroxil antibiotic is produced by Cephalosporium acremonium fungi and has been utilized widely. In the research, determination of cefadroxil in drug capsule by using ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectrophotometer was developed. This method is faster, easier, cheaper, and was proven to give results which were not different with the high performance liquid chromatograpy method which is used as the reference method in the Unites States Pharmacopeia for 30 minutes of hydrolysis time. The maximum wavelength was 355.5 nm in aquadest and 351.6 nm in phosphate buffer pH 5. Validation of the UV-Vis spectrophotometric method resulted accuration, precision, linearity, detection limit and quantitation limit complied with International Conference on Harmonization regulations. Overall, aquadest gave better validation results as solven than phosphate buffer pH 5. | en |
