| Abstract: | The diversity of wildlife including butterfly is one of the factors that becomes a consideration on the declaration of Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) as Campus Biodiversity. The development of land use at IPB Darmaga requires a research on the relationship between habitat characteristics with the diversity of butterfly as a comparison with the previous study to provide habitat management data for the management of IPB Darmaga campus. The study was conducted at eight habitat types in IPB Darmaga, which are: 1) Arboretum of Landscape, 2) Al Hurriyah Forest, 3) Sengon Forest, 4) Akasia Forest, 5) DAR Area, Faculty of Forestry, 6) Residential of Lecturers (Perumahan dosen), 7) Cikabayan and 8) Gymnasium Area. The result of this research gets 707 butterfly consisting 55 species of butterfly. Butterflies which were found consists of five families, namely Papilionidae (8 species), Nymphalidae (29 species), Pieridae (8 species), Lycaenidae (4 species) and Hesperidae (6 species). Residential of Lecturers (Perumahan dosen) habitat has the highest species diversity value of 2.93 with an average temperature characteristics of 30.330C, relative humidity average of 75.89%, the value of Leaf Area Index (LAI) of 1.507 and has a diversity of larvae feed plants, butterflies feed plants and shelters. Generally, species diversity index values and the number of butterfly species has decreased compared to previous studies due to changes in land use on IPB Darmaga campus that disturbs the habitat of butterfly. |
