Abstract: The objective of the research is to design and develop a tool to brace the stemflow in order to reduce the water from the rain fall in to the resin container. Research was conducted by making stemflow brace made from a plastic bottle of mineral water 1.5 liter, bicycle tire outer diameter of 60 cm and a rubber tube with a diameter of 1.5 inches. Stemflow brace attached to the tree pinus, three types of tools on three trees, each measuring of tree diameter 20 cm, 40 cm and 60 cm. Measurements were taken every day for a 20 days rain. The result showed that the stemflow brace that effective to reduce volume of water and resin stored inside the storage container brace stemflow was made from a plastic bottle of mineral water 1.5 liter. This tool has the lowest volume of water deposited on a tree 20 cm diameter by 18.00 ml, 40 cm diameter tree at 46.25 ml and the tree with a diameter of 60 cm has a volume of 24.33 ml of water reservoir. Stemflow brace from a plastic bottle of mineral water 1.5 liter have adequate consideration of the cost of making with lowest cost at Rp 868/unit.
