The research was conducted in the Technology Laboratory of Faculty of Agriculture, Bogor Agricultural Institute from August to October 2003. The treatments were arranged in a Factorial in Randomized Complete Block(Design (RCBD) with light intensities (0, 25, 511, and 100%) as the first factor and GA, concentrations (0, 200,400, and 600 ppm) as the second factor. The data were observed on seed germination potential and germination. The results showed that the gambir seeds have secondary dormancy and the seeds are light sensitive and remained dormant •in the dark. There was interaction effect of light intensity and GA, on seeds germinability. In low light intensity (25 and 50 %) GA, treatment enhanced seeds germination, while in 100 % light intensity GA, treatment tended to reduce germinationen
