Body Weight Fenotific Characteristic, Chest Circle and Body Length of PO Beef (Bos Indicus) as Sacrifice Animal at different Age in MT Farm

Abstract

This research is to know the characteristic of sacrifice PO beef phenotific at the age of different and helps the people on choosing sacrifice beef. We used 57 beefs that consist of 24 in the period 1431 H and 33 in the period 1432 H. Were taken from Mitra Tani Farrn in October 2010 to November 2011. Each was grouped in two ages such as I1 (2-2.5 years) and I2 (3 years). Three measured of variables: body weight (BB), chest circle (LD), and lenght of body (PB). To determine each parameter of different body and age, we used T-test. The average BB on the first period was clearly different (P<0.05) between two ages. The average BB on age I1 is clearly different (P<0.05) between these two periods, while the average age of I2 BB showed no significantly result between these two periods. The average of LD on the first period showed clearly different result (P<0.05) between two ages. While on the second period, there is no significant differences and also on the average two ages. The average LD on age I1 is gained different result (P<0.05) between these two period, while on age I2 showed is not clearly different. The average PB on the first and second period is gained different result between two ages, while on PB with the age I1 is gained clearly different result (P<0.05) and also on age I2 is gained clearly different result (P<0.05). The average BB on age I1 266.27 kg and age I2 289.39 kg, while the average of LD on age I1 147.81 cm and age I2 150.86 cm and the average of PB on age I1 122.62 cm and age I2 121.52 cm. This occurred because of the possibility of genetically varied between the cattle that affect the cattle performance.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik fenotipik sapi PO kurban pada umur yang berbeda. Selain itu membantu masyarakat dalam memilih hewan kurban terutama pada sapi. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 57 ekor sapi kurban dengan rincian sapi kurban periode tahun 1431 H sebanyak 24 ekor dan sapi kurban periode tahun 1432 H sebanyak 33 ekor. Sampel diambil dari peternakan Mitra Tani Farm pada bulan Oktober 2010 hingga November 2011. Masing-masing dikelompokkan menjadi dua umur yaitu umur I1 (2-2,5 tahun) dan umur I2 (3 tahun). Peubah yang diukur ada tiga, yaitu bobot badan (BB), lingkar dada (LD), dan panjang badan (PB). Penentuan antara masing-masing parameter ukuran tubuh dalam umur yang berbeda dianalisis dengan uji-T. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rataan BB pada periode pertama berbeda nyata (P<0,05) antara umur I1 dan I2. Hal ini terjadi karena ternak mampu menyesuaikan kondisi tubuh dengan lingkungannya, maka ternak mengalami pertumbuhan yang searah dengan bertambahnya umur. Periode kedua tidak berbeda nyata antara umur I1 dan umur I2, karena pertumbuhan tulang ternak umur I1 masih terus bertambah, sedangkan I2 sudah stabil. Rata-rata BB pada umur I1 berbeda nyata (P<0,05) antara periode pertama dan kedua, sedangkan rataan BB umur I2 menunjukkan hasil yang tidak berbeda nyata antara kedua periode ini. Hal ini terjadi karena perbedaan waktu penelitian yang dilakukan dan kondisi iklim yang berbeda, sehingga dan mempengaruhi kondisi tubuh ternak sapi.
