Abstract: | Clarias sp. is one of the major freshwater commodities with high economical value in Indonesia. This research evaluated the effect of water quality parameter included: temperature, acidity, dissolved oxygen, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, total nitrogen and total phospate in catfish culture, is fed using flour waste shrimp heads. The amount of flour waste shrimp heads were 0%, 15%, 30%, 45%, and 60%. The object with an average weight of 2.40±0.63 gram, maintained in a aquarium with 100 litres volume and the density was 25 fish/aquarium. Also biology parameter, increasing the average weight, specific growth rate (SGR), feeding convertion ratio (FCR), and survival rate (SR), observed as an additional one. 15% substitution of shrimp waste flour, was the best amount of the feed, give the significant result to all parameters. Growth rate was 2.53 ± 0.13% and SR 96.00 ± 4.00 %. Ikan Lele Clarias sp. merupakan salah satu komoditas perikanan air tawar unggulan yang bernilai ekonomis tinggi. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengkaji perubahan berbagai parameter kualitas air meliputi suhu, derajat keasaman, oksigen terlarut, amonia, nitrit, nitrat, total nitrogen, dan total phospat terhadap benih ikan lele yang diberi pakan dengan komposisi berbeda. Perbedaan komposisi dikarenakan adanya subsitusi tepung ikan dengan tepung limbah udang. Konsentrasi tepung limbah kepala udang dalam pakan masing-masing adalah 0%, 15%, 30%, 45%, dan 60%. Benih ikan lele dengan bobot tebar ratarata 2,40±0,63g dipelihara dalam akuarium volume 100 Liter dengan jumlah tebar 25 ekor per akuarium. Parameter utama yang diamati adalah kualitas air yang meliputi: suhu, derajat keasaman, oksigen terlarut, amonia, nitrit, nitrat, total nitrogen, serta total phospat. Parameter penunjang berupa peningkatan bobot ratarata, specific growth rate (SGR), feeding convertion ratio (FCR), dan survival rate (SR). Hasil penelitian selama 30 hari menunjukkan bahwa nilai kualitas air yang terbaik terdapat pada perlakuan 15% subsitusi tepung limbah kepala udang. Nilai laju pertumbuhan juga lebih baik dibandingkan kontrol dengan nilai 2,53±0,13. Nilai SR untuk perlakuan 15% sebesar 96,00±4,00 lebih baik dibandingkan kontrol. |
