dc.description.abstractThe Palm oil plantation use lot of laboursthat will influence the level of corporation expense. Human resources or harvest labour represent most factor to determine function than other resources. This apprenticeship activity took place in Sei Air Hitam Estate, Rokan Hulu Riau, from February 2012 to May 2012. The objective of this apprentice was to improve the ability, experience, work skill of student and analyzed problems of harvest labour management in Sei Air Hitam Estate. Data and information were collected with direct method to gotten primer data and indirect method to gotten secondary data. The observation collected was all managements and activites about labour harvest in Sei Air Hitam estate. The profile of worker consisted of amount, achievement, age, educational background, origin tribe, work of experience and helper amount of worker. Harvest labour needs in Sei Air Hitam estate was not enough and need to be adding immediately, this short supply of harvest worker was affected the quality of expected result. Worker’s standard output was too high and influent the work quality of worker. The achievement of worker showed that young harvester (17 – 25 years old) work better, worker with higher educational background get more achievement than other, base on work experience the long time experience of worker (>10 years) work better than other. Worker with one helper get less achievement than worker with two helpers. Sei Air Hitam harvest worker consist of 5 tribes they are: Java, Nias, Batak, Saklam, Sunda and Dayak. Nias tribe with high prediction level of harvest activity produce most amount of achievement.en
