The potential. of plant extract as antimicrobial agent has been reported in many studies, including green sirih extract. However, there is no reports on the antomicrobial activity of fractionated green sirih exyract. This study aims to measure the antibocterial octivity of fractionated green sirih extract and to identify the responsible active compounds. The ethanolic extract of green sirih (Piper betle Linn) was fractionated by silica gel column using chloroform, ethanol and acetic acid, resulting in 17 fractions which showed activity against all the tested bacteria ((Escherichia coli, Salmonella Typhimurium, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus cereus andsteria monocytogenes). Among the tested bacteria, sirih extracts showed the most effective inhibition again Salmonella Typhimurium with the diameter inhibition of 10-26 mm. The identification was performed by GC-MS and phenolic compounds (kavikol) and acids (2 5 dimetil-benzoic acid; dodecanoic acid; miristic; palmitic and oleic acid) were found mainly in fraction 3 and fraction 4en
